This review is a little different: instead of being my experience being broken down into pros and cons, I decided to break it into categories. Our introduction to this restaurant was to be charged valet parking for parking our car ourselves into their parking spot. That should have been the first sign of things to come. Drinks: We got a passion fruit margarita and a sangría with passion fruit and they were both pretty good. Honestly a lot of alcohol and deliciousness for the price. Worth the price and very satisfying if you'd like to partake in drinks during your visit. Appetizers: We ordered the surtido, which is a sampler. You would assume that the sampler would include samples of the appetizers listed in the appetizer section of the menu. Nope. All of the items included in the appetizers were not in the appetizer list and were low effort items including fries and sweet potato fries. This was incredibly dissapointing since I ordered the big version of the sampler and it had no price listed on it. Talk about a surprise... This was not a surprise I wanted or would repeat. Skip the sampler, definitely not worth it. It's false advertisement and you will be disappointed. Wait time: we ended up waiting approximately one hour to get served our main dishes which seems way too long to wait for 5 dishes. Main courses: out of the 5 meals we ordered, no one seemed happy with any of them. General complaints seemed to stem everywhere from the flavor profiles to preparation: *The rice was generally to no one's liking * The taste of the food was not up to par to what was advertised. Service: our waiter was polite and attentive. He was one of the few highlights of the experience. Overall it seems like the main complaint of most of our party is that the food was definitely not worth the price and not what was advertised or hyped in its advertising. Every member of our party independently said that they would not return. As for me in particular, my dish seemed to be generally room which was off putting. The combination of flavors reminded me of Japanese influence with Puerto Rican flair, but it was missing the nuance of more sophisticated restaurants that would offer more flavor depth than adding crab to give that influence. Additionally, some of the tactics that this restaurant uses seems geared towards towards cost cutting rather than providing the best experience. An example of this is how the meat that accompanied the dishes was mixed with rice which made the dishes seem bigger but in fact contained much less protein than you would expect which I would imagine lowers the expense of those dishes considerably. Overall, would I return here? Honestly, no. Not due to the fact that the food was not up to par to other restaurants in its price point, but rather the myriad of shady practices that this establishment seems to employ to get the most cash out of their patrons. If it wasn't for the decent service and good drinks, this place would have been 1 star. I suggest you stay away and try another restaurant.

First off literally the best MOFONGO we have ever had and we have tried so much!!! The Chuleta Kan Kan is enormous! The mofongo balls appetizers are absolutely delicious! All of the food was full of flavor, portions were great and service was friendly and incredibly!!!

Tasty food. A bit pricy and the service needs some improvement. The menu is kind of complicated They had a great idea of combining Mexican and Puertorrican food, but it seems too complicated. Once you figure out what to order, the food is good. The Tacofongos are very tasty.

Elegant feel restaurant with an amazing customer service. Entries are pretty big size, their special dishes are to be shared. They have a big bar space and a lot of Tv for you to watch sports while eating. The food tastes great, is a native cuisine with a mix of Mexican. Beware of their parking space, is not big even if you park at their front parking they will ask for your keys as valet parking. The valet parking will charge you $5 even if you arrived under their “free parking” period (11 am - 3 pm), but leave after 3 pm.
